Kitchen Cabinet Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will the finish color vary on your products?

A: American Classics cabinetry by RSI is dedicated to make our best attempt at matching finish colors throughout our manufacturing processes. Because of natural and environmental factors when working with wood, texture differences or color and wood grain variations might be apparent by the wood or laminate materials used in your cabinets.

Q: Can I purchase your kitchen products directly?

A: RSI Home Products (RSI) only sells its kitchen products to retailers. See the Store Locator for your nearest retailer.

Q: Can I order replacement parts through RSI?

A: Yes, contact Customer Service at 1-888-578-4009 between the hours of 6:00 am–4:00 pm (PST), Monday through Friday or click on Contact Us.

Q: Do you build custom kitchen cabinetry and special sizes to fit my project specs?

A: We do not build custom or special size kitchen cabinetry. Our kitchen cabinets are available in industry standard incremental sizes from 9”, 12”, 15”, 18”, 21”, 24”, 27”, 30” and 36” widths.  In addition, we offer cabinet heights of 30”, 36” and 42” with matching bridge and tall cabinets to match your cabinet height system.

Q: Are any of your products available unfinished?

A: We do offer an Unfinished Oak line of kitchen cabinetry.  Other door styles are only available in the finishes as specified throughout our website.

Q: Can I purchase extra shelves for my cabinets?

A: Yes, contact Customer Service at 888-578-4009 between the hours of 6:00 am–4:00 pm (PST), Monday through Friday or click on Contact Us.

Q: How do I clean my kitchen cabinetry?

A: See the Care & Cleaning Tips for detailed information.

Q: What does your warranty cover?

A: American Classics finished kitchen cabinetry is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty and the unfinished oak cabinetry is backed by a One Year Limited Warranty. This warranty covers substantial defects in materials and workmanship in your American Classics kitchen products under normal home use. This warranty is offered only to the original consumer purchaser and may not be transferred. The coverage of this warranty lasts for the lifetime of the original purchaser, so long as he or she owns the home in which the product was first installed.  See Warranty for the full policy.

Q: What do I do if the doors on my kitchen cabinets are not aligned?

A: First, make sure your cabinets are level. If they are not level, you may have to shim your cabinets. Then use the adjustment screws that are in the hinge mounting plate to adjust side-to-side, or up and down.  For additional details, refer to the hinge adjustment instructions included with your cabinetry or click here.

Q: Do you offer design assistance with my project?

A: Since every kitchen is unique, we would suggest that you seek the help of a certified kitchen designer (CKD) that can be found within the retailer you choose.  Click on design tips if you plan to design your own kitchen for some helpful tips.  You may also find the DesignConnect program helpful to speak with an experienced kitchen designer.

Q: Can I have my cabinets delivered direct to my house?

A: There are a variety of delivery options available.  We would recommend that you speak with a kitchen associate at the retailer you purchased your cabinets at to discuss these options.

Q: Do you offer a discounted purchase program?

A: We do offer discounts for truckload quantity buys for contractor purchases.  Minimum of 75 cabinets is required to apply for the discount.  See your local store location for further information and to see if you qualify.  For smaller purchases, keep on the lookout for promotions as they run periodically throughout the year.

Q: Are your cabinets KCMA &/or ESP certified?

A: Finished cabinetry is KCMA and ESP certified. Unfinished cabinetry is ESP certified but does not qualify for KCMA certification due to the nature of being unfinished.

Q: Are your cabinets HUD certified?

A: By nature of being KCMA certified this carries the certification of being HUD approved for use in senior housing or non-severe use projects.  Our cabinetry is not certified for HUD severe use as we do not offer an all-plywood construction option.
