Will our kitchen become the main gathering place?

Thinking about the way you live and imagining how you want to use your new kitchen are the keys to developing a good design. You will need to consider things such as: how many people will be cooking? Do we need to accommodate children or pets?  Will our kitchen become the main gathering place? Do we plan to entertain large groups often in the kitchen? All of these questions will ultimately have a bearing in how your kitchen is laid out to maximize its functionality. 

Next, having a solid understanding of your overall project budget (generally 15% of the value of your home) and what you are willing to spend on your new cabinetry will become a critical factor in deciding which brand you choose and to what extent you will be able to fulfill the dreams of your new kitchen.

Research shows that typically 1/3rd of the budget is spent on cabinetry. However, there are opportunities to save on cabinetry without sacrificing quality. You’ll be able to stretch your dollar and create a very impressive kitchen, complete with upgraded appliances, new flooring, beautiful backsplash, gorgeous countertops, and on, and on, and on.
